I kind of assumed credit union would always give me the best rate, lowest fee, etc. Being non-profit and community owned I figured they’d have customers best interest in mind. Today I realized this isn’t always the case. I was trying to wire money to an international account. Credit Union wanted $50 fee and 4 days to process it. Fidelity required $0 fee and 1 day to process. I sent the money in USD so no exchange rate overhead for either options. Just something to watch out for.. always compare.
