Honestly, I just need a reasonable human being to tell me if this is a good idea. I'm currently a college senior, just got my first full-time job as a Digital Marketing Assistant which is good news. The problem is I've been commuting two hours every day to Denver and back plus parking (it's adding up) so I'm looking to move in a month or two. I currently make about $2400-3k/MO. I'm getting promoted to Digital Marketing Coordinator In January 2021 so in a few months, it'll be more like 2800-3.6k/MO. I'm a first-time renter and don't want to screw myself over by getting too bold. Bills I have outside of rent will be Phone:128, Car Payment: 112, Laptop 111, Car Insurance, 203, Subscriptions: 50-60. I'm assuming I'll be paying around 700-750 after rent. That leaves me with paying 1.8k a month for everything? I'll have like 600 a month after bills, groceries, etc. Is that normal? I also have 5k saved up so far. Any advice is appreciated. I definitely don't want a roommate, that's out of the equation for sure. Edit: I've already been approved for the unit I applied for so I'm not worried about getting approved, just want to make sure it's a decent decision. I also get a 1200/mo VA stipend that I usually put straight towards my loans so I have that back up money just in case for any other emergencies though I don't plan to use it unless I absolutely have too.
