I'm currently stuck in Meridian Missidsippi, living in a homeless shelter and looking for a job so I can get a bus ride to a brand new city.
I've been a cook for almost 5 years. With some housekeeping, construction, marine labor, and car dealership sprinkled throughout that resume.
I am looking for a place with a low cost of living, preferably low crime I am not hard. I dont have a college education or trade. I realize that while I dont enjoy the hourly paid grind its really all I have to build with at the moment.
Painting jobs, lube techs, auto glass repair, hate to say it but maybe cooking again? I'm trying to find a new basic entry job that I can try for a year or two. Not asking for any job recommendations. Just providing information on my marketability (slim as it is).
Do you guys have any recommendations on locations that are growing/low cost of living and relatively safe? I'm not opposed to metropolis nor the middle of the sticks, just somewhere in the middle that's decent.
