Hi there !The motor of my HVAC blower has been replaced. I kept the old one and would like to see if I can refurbish it, as a fun project. The capacitor is fine electrically speaking, but I noticed there is a lot of radial play on the shaft. So I think the bearings need to be replaced.I noticed two small "holes" which are probably to add oil in what I believe to be sleeve bearings, but of course this has never been done in the life of the engine. Maybe I can replace that by ball bearings ?Here are some pictures here[EDIT] Thanks, I was able to open it ! Pictures now include the internals. Diagnostic : bearings and shaft scored due to lack of lubrication. Non serviceable construction and non standard bearings. Cannot repair...[EDIT2] I am going to purchase some cheap eBay R8ZZ bearings (the shaft if 1/2") and try a ball bearing conversion, with a 3D printed plastic holder for the bearings. Just for fun.Any idea as to how I can disassemble it ? I removed 4 screws which held the two blue parts together on each side, but I can't seem to separate anything. It looks like it might be crimped ? If yes any chance to open it non destructively myself without specialty tools ?Thanks via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/34CzcgC
