The lovely Tea and Toast post inspired me to share the small ways I practice gratitude, in the hopes of inspiring others who (like me) struggle with being present in the moment. I would love to hear your comments on how you’re finding moments for gratitude in your everyday life.
Today I practiced gratitude at usually mundane/overlooked times:
-
Folding laundry, by reminding myself what a luxury it is to have my own laundry machines in the comfort of my home instead of having to go to the laundromat. Also, by acknowledging the blessing of having enough warm clothing and the means to keep them clean.
-
Hand washing the dishes, by acknowledging my gratitude for being able to afford healthy food of my choosing and the time to cook the foods we enjoy.
-
Checking the mail, by acknowledging how fortunate I am to be able to vote, to have access to the resources to learn more about the issues my community is voting on, and to live where I have a ballot drop box near by.
