I’m a single mom with 2 kids. Since my divorce 10 years ago I have worked hard to improve my credit with the goal of buying a house.
I have what I thought was a good down payment but it is definitely less than 20% of any property in my area. My dream is to own a house but I would buy a condo if that’s what I can afford. The problem is even 1 bedroom condos in my area are more than I can afford.
Is there a way I can invest my down payment so that owning a home can be in my future? I’m tired of renting and hate my apartment. How do people by homes when they only have one income to work with?
