I'm 19 and just starting to figure adulthood out. In particular, my partner and I have just moved in together and we've been buying stuff that we think we need. While we're pretty minimalistic, I've had to start a list of things to do/buy and it's really getting me down.

For instance, some recent purchases (aside from furniture) have been my new 100% cotton sheets. I feel like I needed these, as we both suffer from allergies and acne and hope they'll improve our sleep quality. I bought a yoga mat, because we have hardwood floors and I couldn't exercise without it. I bought some moisturiser, because the cold air is drying up my skin. I bought a draught excluder, because the bedroom door doesn't go all the way down to the floor and it keeps the heat in. I bought a picture frame, a bedside table, a rug, a mirror, a lightbulb, a blanket, a shelf, curtains...

And suddenly we've lost a few hundred.

Is this just adulthood? Or am I overspending? Do I need these things, or do I want them? I was coping without them before, yet some may improve quality of life. Where do you draw the line?
