Long time lurker here so thanks for all the great content posted here in the past!
As the title says, My significant other is a German citizen living and working in the states for quite some time now but is not a green card holder. She has yet to pull the trigger on investing a bit of money she has stashed away because she wasn’t sure how long she’d be in the states.
My question is if anyone has any advice or resources that might be helpful for someone in her situation. I suggested she could just invest in the US stock market but I’m not sure about the tax implications or if that’s even the right move.
She is past the first couple hurdles of investing such as the safety net and employer retirement matching (they have a pseudo pension program) so this would be the money left over after that.
