I want to start making some relatively small stock purchases, but it seems that I keep running into issues because of my American/dual citizenship. I am very much aware of rule 2 in here, but I feel like this is less about "advice about my personal situation" and more of a general "how do I get started" question. If any US dual citizens or anyone could point me to any good articles or general info that would be greatly appreciated. When I looked most of the info I found was basically tl;dr "it is annoying to start investing and potentially burdensome taxwise if you are a dual US national"
I tried to get started doing this about a year ago, but kept being preventing from joining with online trading companies because they all specifically ask if I was a US citizen also and then I'd get rejected instantly.
Mods if this post breaks rule 2 any advice on how to rephrase/edit the post to meet the guideline would be appreciated as well.
