I'm an artist looking to relocate for a few years to somewhere really cheap, so I can pay off my student loans. I work from home so work isn't an issue.
So where are the cheapest places with 1997 rent prices? As an artist, I would love places with beautiful nature nearby. Hit me with your best spots, bonus if there are cool things about living there. Like cute downtown, cute restaurants, etc. If you are familiar with the place you are suggesting, some pros and cons would be awesome.
