I am using silica gel for the first time with small flowers. I have tried the natural drying method and the microwave method. I have tried using hairspray and A flower preserving spray to seal the dried flowers. I also tried using no sprays. I put them all in separate tupawares. One Week Later>>> The natural dried+flower spray had become less dry and started browning . Some of the microwave+hairspray became soggy and yellow. One of these batches didn’t turn out too and though just not as dry. The microwave+no spray became MOLDY !!! ....So, when I dried these flowers initially, they were dry and crispy. The color had faded a tiny bit. Which I was confused Bc I thought silica gel preserved the colors. I’m wanted to say, “well I guess I’ll just not use any sprays!” But seeing the batch with no spray become moldy.... I’m just confused . Someone please help!(Between uses I also made sure the silica gel had cooled down, and when some of the particles became pink I put it in the oven instructed online). via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2YWDVYF
