I keep seeing those posts about "I graphed my heart rate while I was giving my PHD thesis", and I want one.

I don't want a Fitbit because they apparently make you pay a recurring subscription fee. I don't need any cloud storage or anything a fee could possibly pay for, I just want my wearable device to communicate its data to my phone so I can view it on a graph.

Preferably one that you wear on your wrist, I see a lot of them are chest-mounted and that doesn't look very comfortable or subtle.
