I've decided to get into the "craze" of creating a live-edge (or river) table. I've been spending a bunch of time on YouTube and Google'ing around for examples & tips.Over the weekend the wife & I happened upon this really nice looking piece of Old English Walnut. I't just over 7' long and about 2' wide (and almost 2" deep). My initial thought is to split it up and use a 6" wide (approx) piece on each edge. The "live" edges would be on the inside and the skis shown below would be the inlay (this is just one possible layout of the skis). These are all skis I have owned and skied on over 30 years. My thought it to use a ultra-clear epoxy to fill the center and have the skis embedded. The goal is to have this close to 7' long, and as wide as needed. The full width of skis as show below may be too much. I don't know.I have basic woodworking skills - have access to a miter-saw, a table saw, planer and most other tools I believe I need. What I may struggle with is a dust-free environment (we have cats), so I'll have to think on that before I get to the epoxy stage. So, please offer up your suggestions.Upper \"half\"Lower \"half\"The inlay via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/3clduRH
