I was given an awesome 7.1 cubic foot chest freezer and Im really considering slowly stocking it with freezer meal prep. Ive frozen extra foods and specific meals like lasagna, my homemade pot pie, and homemade tomato sauce.
But I have a freezer prep book that takes large amounts of food (like 6lbs of chicken per recipe) and has great preparation, storage, and cooking instructions. It would be expensive just in some of the meats, but several ingredients are my regular pantry items.
I was considering adding one recipe worth of ingredients to each weekly shopping list, and spend the next few months filling up the deep freeze with ready or easily ready meals.
Whats really driving this is I am currently pregnant and really interested in having easy meals close to baby's arrival and during healing after.
Would you take on some extra cost each week for preparation like this?
