Disclaimer - If you use insurance, they might limit you to which pharmacies you can use.
Story Time - My dog has to take medication every day for nerve pain. I have his prescription filled at Walmart since it's close by and I can usually get a month's supply for around $15 with GoodRX. A few days ago, I went to get a refill and the pharmacist would not use the GoodRX coupon which does happen every so often. Whatever. I'm about to pay full price when he tells me it'll be $67. That's a little high for one month. I still have a few days left of the medication so I don't purchase it yet.
I notice on the GoodRX app that the same drug is listed at Costco for $14 before the discount, $10 with a discount. I call the Costco pharmacy and they confirm that the prescription would only be $14. I called my dog's vet and asked them if they could transfer pharmacies. No problem. I picked it up a few hours ago and it was in fact $14 instead of the $67 that I would have spent.
So yeah, just thought I would share since I didn't realize prescriptions could vary so much between pharmacies. Also, I do have a Costco membership but I think you can still use their pharmacy even without a membership.
TL;DR - I switched pharmacies and paid $14 for a prescription instead of $67.
