My dog is getting a bit older and has hip dysplasia, so we have been looking for some dog steps for our bed to limit her jumping up and down. I saw this plan online and I liked it, because you can collapse it down and slide it under the bed or bring it with you, if needed.I followed the actual plans pretty close, except I made the steps a bit narrower (for space and using the extra wood I already had on hand). I also added the side-rails because my dog was scared and having trouble following the stairs up and down without them. Pretty happy with how it turned out!One other thing that I would also like to change from the initial plans, when the stairs are in "ramp mode", the ramp is actually at a fairly steep angle, my dog is a bit of a chicken but I would say most dogs would still have some trouble going up it. I think it wouldn't be too hard to make the blocker for the legs so that it could be adjusted, for example if you used a thick dowel instead and had some spaced holes for the dowel to run through where the blocker is in the initial design. I Don't think I'll use ramp mode much so didn't bother changing it up, but still neat that it's part of the design.https://preview.redd.it/du45m1zw6eo51.jpg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=deda687a2721d55d0beb30635bb1369506f23240https://preview.redd.it/eonkwtdz6eo51.jpg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=56e5d79b1ff63e354a09c74bdd23e5fff8345475https://preview.redd.it/iqayky517eo51.jpg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=95922edb441f32a3ce5c2e2a73f7fb0d1d41e1fehttps://preview.redd.it/u0gpyx437eo51.jpg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6f3c42a47e72b3874cf38d6ab6bd13ba2c6660c4https://preview.redd.it/ip9hn3b57eo51.jpg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5ccb3c486719ccdc526856959c682a1a7f280a04 via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/32K5SVM
