Hello everyone, as the title says I am 24. I want to ask those here what they would say to their 24 year old self, younger self, or other people who would listen regarding what this subreddit is about. I’m in an advantageous position currently compared to most but I realize I am not making the best of it for my future. (Sorry if this formats weird I’m on mobile).

• I work part-time and randomly full-time depending on work needs and my choice, in a bank as a personal banker in Ohio making $17hr plus incentive checks ranging around $300 minimum per month. I have room for growth in the company as I continue a degree.

• My s/o works part-time in a pharmacy making $13.50 an hour I think around that, she is currently working on a degree and may get a job in banking as well

• I am living with my s/o and let’s say I don’t have to pay for rent, although I do have other bills that are mandatory in which I pay $1000-$1100 a month (car, car insurance, sum debt and few other living cost) still plenty without a rent bill but way less. In coming months I’ll pay less as I’ll have some credit cards paid off.

• I want to create a future for my future family where it’s more than comfortable, how can I start? I only have $1100.00 in the bank I feel that is pitiful for the situation I’m in. Clearly I am not properly saving or using my money the best.

I have been in this living condition for a bit less than 2 years so far. I know the question could be answered in a million ways where I could start or go, but if you guys were 24 in my position what would you do to secure the future or start to try to. Any advice is appreciated I just want to take advantage of current situation as I know sooner or later (sooner) I will have to pay for everything life has to offer which is bills to live. If this isn’t the right place to ask this stuff lemme know I go somewhere else (: thanks.
