Basically the question above.

I suppose a lot of people on this board are just general Index fond investors, and I was wondering about this a while ago. The current economy is heavily based on the promise of growth, may it be through productivity increase, more resources, new markets etc.

So, I believe very strongly that the current economical situation will recover, even if it takes 10 years. I recently read "This time it's different", and I don't see an indication why it should be.

However, I'm wondering what will happen if our growth based economy just can't grow anymore. It's obvious that we have limited resources on this planet, even if we're not even close to using it completely though. But there are boundaries (Also due to climate impacts etc. What happens if we hit these boundaries? How will the economy continue, and what will investing look like?
