I've been having this discussion with a few people, and they're all giving differing answers. I've paid off my student loans and have been lucky enough to not need a credit card. I've been told that in order to have better credit, I need to get one, use it once per month, then pay it off.

I feel like this is counterintuitive, but I'm admittedly ignorant on the matter. Financiers of Reddit, what is your advice?
