I no longer care about wearing the latest styles in regards to clothing and footwear. I rarely wear make-up, so I spend maybe $20 a year on cosmetics. I have a kindle and download books for free from the library.
My weakness? Candles. I love walking into my house after being at work all day and how wonderful the rooms smell. I buy candles from Bath & Body Works. They’re originally $24.50 but I buy them in bulk when they’re on sale for $11.95 plus a 20% coupon. Each candle lasts approximately 2 weeks, as I don’t burn them continuously.
At first I felt guilty buying something that literally burns up, but I realize that they “spark joy” and the $12 I spend every 2 weeks is worth the cost. Some people spend their money on Starbucks or eating out or having a new phone.
So my question is, what do you continue to buy even while still maintaining a frugal life?
