Today I spent $100 on a pair of hoka sneakers. In the past I would have thought this was wild seeing that previously I would spend maybe $20 on work shoes. But for the past two years I wore down my other pair of hokas, and I wore those every day. my job requires me on my feet running around every day, and not only has it been worth it for the shoes not falling apart, but also my posture has changed for the better and I haven't come home hobbling and reaching for icy hot. So if you can, don't skimp on the shoes, they are the one thing that you might want to splurge on the most because it will over all be one of the best frugal decisions.
