Hello fellow redditors,
I am a 23 year old man who is finishing college and trying to build his credit score for a brighter financial future. I seek your wisdom.
Here is my current situation:
- Credit score of 607
- Near-perfect credit history (albeit short): never missed any of my 84 recorded payments/ always on time
- No derogatory marks
At 18, I opened a secure credit card from my bank, closed it a year and a half later after I was approved for a Best Buy credit card, and closed my Best Buy credit card a year later because I didn't like its perks.
So after seeing that score, I did my research and applied for an Apple Card and was denied despite reading about other people who were approved with lower credit scores.
As of right now, I have no open lines of credit to build my score with, and it is preventing me from building my credit score. What should I do?
