My partner and I are both working from home and we are in desperate need a comfier couch than our current one (nothing like quarantine to teach you that your couch sucks!). We considered buying one new at IKEA, but we're moving across the country in a year and don't want to invest $600 in something we may have to get rid of to save space in the U-Haul.
I found a used leather couch on Facebook Marketplace for $90. I asked the guy selling it if it's real leather and he said he doesn't know for sure but that he thinks it is real leather. Tbh, he seems like a student who bought the couch used and doesn't know much about it. He's selling it to move.
I agreed to buy the couch sight unseen because I'm higher risk for COVID-19 complications, so we're doing a contact free pickup where he brings it to the street outside his building — it's safer for me than going inside.
I've already agreed to buy the couch, but want to know if I'm making a mistake and buying something pleather that will crack and peel. Obviously, no one will be able to conclusively answer this question, but I figure it's worth a shot. Here's a picture of the couch:
