hello,i am going to go into detail about my situation with the hot tub as well as what i have done and what i think potential issues could be.I bought a house and it came with a hot tub that was older. i had a hot tub repair guy come out and look at it and we were able to get everything fired up and working.the tub worked great for about 5 months and last saturday the jets stopped working. when i would press the jet button there would be a loud humming noise and then it would shut off. during this time i got a DRY code and a DL code. This made me think there was possibly airlock so i loosened the pipes connecting to the pump to see if there was an air bubble. there wasn't a release of air so i went on to the next thing which was to see if there was an issue with the pump.when i took the back off of the pump the capacitor was blown (it had a black residue on it looked like it exploded. i flipped the gfi outlet until a new capacitor could come in.yesterday the capacitor came in and installed it then went to start the tub to see if that was the issue and naturally the tub wouldn't start (couldn't get the light/control board to come on let alone the pumps.Âevery time i try to flip the gfi switch it won't stay in the on position which means that something is either wrong with the breaker or something is wrong with the tub.i then began to investigate what could be wrong with the tub. i went underneath and unplugged all the necessary plug ins and then tried to re flip the breaker to see if that would make it come back on. this didn’t work.further research has me to believe that it could be a bad water heater as i haven’t disconnected that from the power source yet (requires a wrench i dont have and will pick up tomorrow). if i disconnect the heater and the breaker is able to flip back on ill know its a bad heater. if i disconnect and the breaker still isn’t able to flip on I’m going to assume its an issue with the gfi breaker.Other information that could be helpful:water was changed a couple of weeks ago and worked fine up until last sunday.I had to get my main breaker box replaced about a month ago because it blew (older house).hot tub is 14ish years old.all electronics on unit were working fine until i took back of pump and changed capacitor. via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2CYApFq
