Hey, I just moved in with a new roommate. The only time I've ever been in a situation where I needed to buy groceries for more than myself was when I was living with my ex, in which case we went together and split 50/50.
Since I am not dating this person I didn't immediately jump to doing the same. I was curious though, is it more economical to buy groceries together and split it, or to both individually buy own groceries? Assuming we would buy roughly the same priced items.
E.g. if the monthly cost of one individual's groceries is $200, would a pair of people buying together be $400? Or does it scale a little more favorably when buying for two, like $350 instead of $400
Thanks, I hope this makes sense.
