I want to build a homemade “milling machine” for inleting wood gunstocks. My idea is to make a framework that holds my router above the workpiece like a drill press would, then use my two way adjustable vice for all side to side adjustments. The part I’m having trouble with is coming up with a vertical adjustment for this monstrosity. I’d like to be able to put my two way vice on top of some kind of height adjustable hardware. Nothing I’ve seen online so far has been what I’m looking for, most are way to heavy duty for what I need. It would have to be a hand crank lift that can be stopped at any point in the rotation and the height would hold true.
