Hi DIYers. I have been DIY building relatively basic furnitures around the house for a few years now. I would like to think my electrical and woodworking knowledge is no longer that of a novice, but one thing I can never get it right to my satisfaction is painting. I've watched countless DIY videos on how to use water/oil/acrylic based paint, sanding tips, different primers, protective coatings, brushing/rolling/spraying techniques, taping for every kinds of base material out there. I always sand the living s out of my furniture starting from 80 to sometimes 400 (mostly at minimum 220) grits, sanding between coats and removing dust every time. But my paint NEVER comes out like how even like 15 dollar IKEA laminate furniture feels. Silky smooth.I've actually never used a sprayer before (used spraying cans). Is it possible to get a surface where it's smooth enough to just glide an object? I am talking smooth like poured epoxy. Please help! via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/3f8kJfV
