Hello all,

I don't really know what to do here. I qualified for unemployment in Illinois at the start of March when Planet Earth closed. I never received a payment. I never received my card. I never received my re-cert dates and since I didn't receive those I never recertified. I know I should have studied more what I was supposed to do but I was under the impression that I would receive my recertification dates in the mail.

I have finally been able to get a hold of the company that actually sends out the unemployment cards and got it re-issued. 3 months later.

I have been calling the unemployment office 30-40 times a day for 3 months now. Nearly 2500 times according to my phone. I have only ever gotten a busy tone or get through the menu and it says "we are experiencing higher than normal call volume and can't answer your call at this time." I have been living off savings for 3 months now and things are getting really tight.

I don't know what other steps I can take. According to the website, the only way to get in touch with them is via phone. I don't know what else I can possibly do. Does anyone have any advice or is this just the world we live in.

I know I'm lucky and have money saved. A lot of people don't. Is this just the world we have and I just need to keep calling or is there something else I can do that I don't know about?
