So I make $13/hr, working 40 hours a week. That's $2080/mo, and after taxes, that's about $1700/mo. Currently, my only monthly spenditures are $40 a week on food for me+cat, $27/mo on waxing (shut up, I know), $40/mo on teaching supplies, $20 on utilities and about $80 on gas. I average about $80 on all utilities. That's like $320/mo. Right now, I live a five minute walk from work, so I'm only spending $40 on gas every three months. I

With that in mind, how much should I be spending on an apartment? My city's average cost for a 1BR is $1287/mo. I don't see this job as permanent and am planning to relocate with the boyfriend after he graduates, so this is one year where I'd like to save some, but my primary concern is finding a place to live, where the most frugal non-bedbug apartments are like $850 before utilities lolool

Also would the rent calculation include utilities? Thanks
