Ever since China stopped taking trash from America a couple years ago, garbage collection prices have gone up around 50% in my area. I would like to share a bin with my neighbor to split the costs because my wife and I have the smallest bin available and never fill it.
- Is anyone else doing this?
- How did you approach your neighbor? It seems like a very odd request in a quiet middle class suburban neighborhood.
- Are there any unforeseen negatives I'm not thinking about?
Even a bigger bin split between two families would be cheaper than the smallest bin, and if it doesn't work out, I could always go back to having my own. I just got the wife on board because she would be embarrassed to ask but it doesn't seem weird to me.
