So I'm 18 and I plan on moving out of state, nothing set in stone but we are taking about it. I would be moving in with a friend temporarily to see if it's right for me. If I decide to stay I would be finding a job my own appartment, ect.
The whole plan we kinda brainstormed would be something along the lines of me staying a month, the first two weeks dedicated to seeing if it's what I want, the last two dedicated to starting the job/apartment hunt.
I have some experience planning, I planned to visit her for a week + food money and other expenses besides travel ones. Did pretty good at it, we ended up eating out more than I thought and used an additional ~$50 ish more than I planned. But I feel like it could've been a lot worse.
But nothing like this? Reasonably how much should I be saving up for this? Obviously at the very least 2 weeks worth of food money but knowing me I'm gonna do all 4 to be safe. But other expenses?
Like should I save up for an apartment in advance? And a car? I dont mind saving for these things it's just that my life experience isn't enough to tell me everything I should save for. Im sure there are things I wouldn't even think of.
What's the best way of going about this?
