I didn’t have a great childhood and as a result I’ve had to do a lot of raising myself. It’s taken a long time but I’m getting there. I never committed suicide, never stopped trying. But it’s taken a lot of work and I’m pretty behind.
Reading this sub is hard because you are all SO on top of your finances. But it’s inspiring as well. I read it and I feel like I’m lost when it comes to being responsible with money. I buy myself nice things all the time, don’t really save, don’t know how to, etc.
So I wanted to ask - what should I do with my money?
F, late 30’s
Goal: go back to school (for real job prospects), start a family, buy/rent 2nd home in the city (to be able to work), eventually save for retirement
Stats: no consumer debt, car paid off, mortgage on a country property (can’t sell it, ever. Long story), have decent equity, 30k in cash savings (all in high interest accts)
What should I do now? How do I reach my goals? Is there anything I’m not considering about my financial life?
TIA
