FB just announced they will begin to allow employees to work from home post-COVID. It seems like a huge shift is taking place and I wouldn't be surprised if other big tech companies did the same. I'm wondering what the ramifications are if a large portion of the workforce works from home?

People wouldn't have to commute so either they'll have more free time or just work more. Either way it seems like a win-win for productivity. I can see some industries being hit though like transportation or small restaurants people usually eat on their lunch.

Wondering what everybody here thinks this means for the economy and society?
