Hi All!I recently purchased a house and am looking to accomplish some landscaping projects this summer. The major one is leveling out the backyard which is about 1/4 hill, in order to give myself some more usable space. I am trying to research various ways to build a retaining wall and trying to make the decision that is somewhere in the middle of cost and longevity. The red lines below represent where i am looking to build the wall, overall its about 38 (12ft on the left wall, and 26ft along the back wall. At that point in the slope, the wall would need to be a minimum of 30" tall, but 36" would really be ideal for the high of the slope at that point. Most of the stackable blocks seem to have limits of 2ft, not sure if thats 2ft above the ground or 2ft including the layer that gets buried. I have also looked into a timber wall using 6x6 ground contact timbers but that seems to be more "engineering" to accomplish that. I could bring the wall out farther away from the back line so the slope is shorter but I am trying to maximize my yard space. With the blocks, is it possible to do two tiers of blocks? each would be set about 4 ft apart from each other? Or is there another way I should think about going about this all together?https://ift.tt/2yjaWUH via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2We3EJV
