I own a "pleather" couch that has started to peel very badly. No fuzz or stuffing coming out of it, just the imitation leather starting to peel. It's not a very comfortable couch (pretty terrible all around), but I don't really want to purchase a new one now when I have so many other big purchases to make. I spent a few hundred bucks on it not that long ago, and I'd like to keep it going if possible -- at least partially get my money's worth out of it.

What can I do to keep it from leaving bits of fake leather all over my house? Is there any way I can reupholster it myself, or is that a big endeavor? If worst comes to worst, what's the best way to get rid of it in a smart way?
