I walk an average of 8-10 miles a day, mostly on concrete, and am constantly wearing out my shoes -- my most recent investment, a pair of Herman Survivors, lasted a little over a month before the outsole wore through (I later realized that this is a recurring problem with Walmart boots) -- so am looking for a more long-lasting option.

I don't need true BIFL but if I'm going to spend $100+ on one pair of boots, I'm hoping to get more than a year out of it (I am on a budget, but at this point the new-pair-of-random-Chinese-shoes-every-few-months routine is also getting expensive). Since I would just be using them to walk or run on sidewalks, I don't need a safety toe and am open to any kind of work/tactical/hiking boot.

The Survivors were comfortable but too clunky to run in, and I had a pair of Interceptors I loved until I walked clean through them -- I'm considering Merrell Moabs or 5.11 Cables since I've heard both are good for rucking, but don't know enough to really evaluate either option.

Thank you in advance!
