Hi everyone. I’m 23 years old, from Canada, with two degrees (undergrad + masters). I completed my masters this past summer and have been working full time since September. My job pays quite well for my age (CAD$72K salary, pre-tax), and my student loans (CAD$30K) will be paid off in the next two months. I’ve been saving quite aggressively (CAD$900) every two weeks because I want to move home as soon as I can, financially. I am currently living a few provinces away from home because high-paying jobs in my industry are hard to find in the area I grew up, but all I want is to return home and be closer to family/nature.

I don’t want to get hooked into making a lot of money. I currently make really good money for my age (before this job I worked at Tim Hortons for $10.60 an hour), and it’ll only go up in the next few years. I’m not overly interested in earning lots of money - just would like enough to be comfortable and grow a family, but my way of living isn’t luxurious by any means.

I’m looking for advice on how long I should stay where I am and continue saving, before moving away and taking a massive pay cut. I want to be smart with my choices, I’m ok with where I am right now but know I want to move back as soon as I can. I don’t want to start a family until I go home, and I’d start a family any day now if I could.

Thanks for reading all of this. Any advice is appreciated.
