I'm a Canadian looking to switch to AT&T to avoid the ridiculous prices charged by our Canadian cell carriers. I live close to the border so I plan on just heading over to sign up. I'm looking for some feedback from someone who has gone through the process already. My biggest question/concern is I will be issued a US number. I don't want my friends and family in Canada to pay extra to text or call as they will officially be texting /calling the US. I'm looking into porting our current #s to VoIP.ms and forwarding calls from current numbers to the new US numbers. Will this work for sms messaging as well? If you have experience with this I would appreciate your help. Thanks
