No matter how sure you are that you've got the fundamentals down, there'll always be a force majeure incident waiting on the sidelines to fuck you up.

For example, tourism stocks in China are dumping right now. They looked pretty strong before the coronavirus news, but now, with Chinese passengers being screened and detained everwhere, the tourism sector isn't looking good. Can you predict a virus mutation? Fuck no, no investor is thinking about that kind of stuff, and even if they are, there's no chance in hell they can accurately predict it.

Stay diversified, DCA in, don't try timing things and don't go too heavy into individual sectors. The risk comes from places you can't even see yet.
