I've purchased Lowa, they were great until the polyurethane midsole dissolved.
I used to buy army surplus cadet boots. The heel inevitably loses it's cushion and then your heel blisters.
... I'm probably not going to climb Everest, I'm looking for something that's going to be good for around a city and for day hikes.
Any advice welcome, I've tried on a ton of shoes recently. Everything at MEC has fucking polyurethane midsoles and I don't trust that any more.
I'm on Vancouver island, Canada.
