My son has a penchant for breaking everything. He breaks toys, electronics, appliances. Anything! He would try to break an anvil if he could find a weakness. It was very frustrating. To give him something and to have him return it an hour later broken. After losing my cool a few times I thought I would take a different approach. Ask him why he did it. I caught him trying to destroy a plastic shark. The shark was clearly hollow to an adult, but to a 4 year old, it was filled with guts and other things sharks eat. So we cut it open and he was let down, but his curiosity was satisfied. He just wanted to know how things work. So now old toys that cannot be donated we unscrew, cut, and smash our way to it's inner workings.I am trying to build on this now and show him how to rebuild broken appliances. So does anyone have any ideas on old junk store appliances that would be fun for a kid to build? via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/35i0K9r
