Hi DIYers! I have an electrical outlet in the basement which I'd like to flip around 180 degrees. It's on the wall which covers the space under the basement stairs, and so the conduit and junction box are exposed behind the wall (in the unfinished utility room). I want to spin the outlet around so that it's accessible to the under-the-stairs space, and then patch or cover the resulting hole in the drywall. Is it acceptable to patch and eventually wallpaper over the hole? Since the junction box will be rotated and no wiring will be exposed behind the drywall I think I'm in the clear, but I'm hoping y'all can provide some advice. I tried googling for this but couldn't find any pertinent information (all the results I get are about rotating an outlet in the vertical plane, and I want to rotate it horizontally). Thanks! via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/38rOZiE
