Hello all,I'm working on a bathroom remodel and looking to do something a bit different. I've only found two examples of other people doing something similar.Example 1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1cw27sLhFOI Example 2: https://ift.tt/379f3i7 one is most similar to what we're looking to do. We want to do the entire shower in pre-finished concrete panels from PPG (https://ift.tt/2sE8d5t) and then continue it around 3 of the 4 bathroom walls for a continuous look. This is a rather large bathroom and will include a space for laundry on the 4th wall which will just be drywall. We like the idea of different wall types / colors to split the space up as each area has different functions. The big question: how to install / attach these panels. Most people including the manufacturer suggest nailing the panels and then using their touch up product to paint over any holes and seal things up. The manufacturer instructions specifically say to not use construction adhesive for these things. However, in example one, they do use adhesive for their custom built panels (plus some metal tabs). In the past, we've done a lot of tile showers and use durock as our backing so our thought here is to just treat these panels like big tiles and put them up with mortar and grout. These things come pre-finished with a 15 or 30 year warranty on the paint and are meant to withstand the elements so we aren't too concerned about them holding up to daily showering. But, thoughts on installation? This is an experiment for us and just looking to hear other thoughts. We will be doing the install Monday morning and I'll probably film the process to share with others once it's done.
