I haven't bought a "brand new" phone in years. Last month I absolutely needed a new phone so I bought a certified refurbished Samsung Galaxy Note 9 for $375 and currently pay less than $70/month for me and my fiance's "Basic" unlimited plan with Sprint. When that phone came out it was close to 1K and mine is in perfect working order with no scratches and a 90 day warranty.
