Hi there! I am making a desk out of plywood and will be covering with featherfinish to achieve a faux concrete look. I bought a really cheap plywood from lowes that is only sanded on one side. This sanded side will be the top (the one I will be adding the feather finish to). Question is: do i need to do/treat the bottom side of the plywood to protect the desk? (I.e from bugs, moisture) This is for bottom side of the desk, which is the one that will be exposed ‘raw’. It has some nuts, and of course its not sealed. The desk will always be indoors and in Southern California (super dry). Will polyurethane in satin help or would it be a waste of time and material? Alternatively, if needed, what could i do protect it? Again - all of this is for the bottom part of the desk that will not be visible. Just taking care of the wood in case in needs to. Thanks a lot! via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2Rn1pme
