https://imgur.com/a/5FWFa5N = pictures of my frugal gifts!
i'm currently in a difficult financial situation and i'm not able to afford individual gifts for a lot of people this christmas. i'm unlearning and relearning a lot of my consumption habits... along with trying to dissociate the cost (how much i pay for something) from the value a gift has - there's really no need for us to prove how much we love and appreciate our friends and family with material goods. i am grateful that (most of) my friends are understanding and supportive - i'm doing my best not to feel guilty that i can't afford fancier gifts for people but am very aware that i feel that way because of consumerism (which can also be incredibly wasteful).
the bows i tied around the mason jars were actually just ribbon loops (that are usually used to hang clothes onto a hanger) from the inside of various clothing pieces my boyfriend's mom had been saving the past few years. talk about /zerowaste! i'm also hoping my friends feel like they can reuse the mason jars after the snickerdoodles are all eaten - the possibilities are endless. thanks for reading.
