Most people have a metric ton of bedding on their beds for reasons I never understood. Usually they'll have a fitted sheet that covers the mattress, a flat sheet to cover the fitted sheet, a blanket between them and the comforter, then a comforter/duvet, and a duvet cover to cover the comforter, as well as (for some people) another blanket at the foot of the bed or a quilted blanket or whatever. It boggles my mind how much time they must spend on washing their sheets, especially people with pets like me.

I live with 2 cats in a studio apartment so their fur often gets on the bedding, and so washing the sheets takes about twice as long (I need to lint roll everything first before and after) and more frequent. I'd like to reduce the number of bedding as much as possible without being too ridiculous.

I've been thinking of just having the fitted sheet, then a flat sheet, then a somewhat thick blanket. I really don't want a full blown duvet or a comforter with a duvet cover to detach and attach again every time I wash them cus it wastes a lot of time and I frankly just couldn't be bothered. What do you think?

What types of bedding do you have for your bed? I live in California and have a central heater in my home, so I don't think having a comforter is super necessary.. A somewhat thick blanket should be fine, right?
