We’ve all been there: we buy a new pair of white shoes, are excited to wear them, and a short time later they are filthy, scuffed up, and unwearable. At this point, you might think to cut your losses and look for a new pair. You wore them almost every day anyways, right?
While it would be nice to just buy a brand new pair of shoes, you don’t have to. For less than $15, you can completely restore your white leather shoes. There’s only 2 steps involved, and it takes only 10 minutes of work. You can also additionally wash the shoe laces in a washing machine.
Step 1: Clean the shoes The first step is to clean the shoes from dirt. The easiest way to do this is to use baby wipes. These are light enough so they will not damage the leather. Wipe the shoes to get rid of any dirt and let them dry. Once they shoes are dry, you can proceed to step 2.
Step 2: Paint the shoes The last step involves painting the shoes to essentially paint over any scuff marks or imperfections. Get some leather paint and a sponge brush. Simply apply a few coats of the paint on the shoe, allowing it to dry between each coat.
Once the paint dries, your shoes will look brand new! This method will save you hundreds of dollars from replacing your shoes, which could instead be fixed with some simple scrubbing and painting.
