This definitely varies by retailer, but some retailers do this. I was able to get 20% off a backpack from an European outdoor brand just for messaging them on Facebook and being interested in their products. I did not even ask for the coupon, so this was a big surprise! Customer service agents can provide discount codes that aren’t always available to the public, without using those useless coupon code websites that don’t work most of the time.
