I'm currently living with my mom and apparently she has racked up a good amount of financial debt over the years.
She's currently out of town, so it's pretty much just been me dealing with it. And let me tell you having debt collectors after you really, really sucks. A whole wave of paranoia. I've had them knock/ring the apartment buzzer almost every other day now. One time as late as 10:30pm. It's terrifying. They'll ring everyone's apartment buzzer if I don't let them in and from there start knocking on my door for a very long time.
My mom told me if they speak to me say I'm under 18. Idk if this is good advice and that is the main reason I'm posting here. I'm trying to figure out the best approach for the situation, even how to approach a face to face situation, and lastly what are my rights.
I've tried googling this scenario and haven't found much of use. Thank you.
